The job of the County Treasurer is to serve as the chief custodian of county finance. Duties include receiving, depositing, applying and disbursing all monies belonging to the county. Additional duties include: correspondent for social security; county retirement (TCDRS); credit union; unemployment; workers compensation; deferred compensation; and supplemental insurance. The County Treasurer is the payroll officer for the county charged with maximizing the yield and minimizing the fees on the county's investments; personnel/human resources officer of the county; and liaison/member of Board of Trustees for the Liberty County Group Benefits Pool for partially funded health, dental, and life insurance.
