Liberty County District Attorney
Michael R. "Mike" Little is a graduate of Baylor University Law School in Waco, Texas. His wife, Lisa, is a second grade teacher at Liberty Elementary School and they have two children, Michael Brett and Mark.
Mike was engaged in the private practice of law in this area from 1977 until September of 1983, at which time he was appointed to the position of District Attorney for Chambers and Liberty Counties. Mike has been certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a board certified criminal law specialist.
Mike is the Project Director of the Liberty/Chambers Counties D.A.R.E. Unit which provides drug abuse resistance education in our area schools. Mike also serves as the Project Director for the Narcotics Trafficking Task Force of Chambers and Liberty Counties. He was named as the Outstanding Crime Prevention Manager for 1998 by the Texas Crime Prevention Association. He is a former member of the statewide Crime Victims Committee of the State Bar of Texas.
He is a former director of the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and a former director of Liberty Youth Baseball. Mike currently serves as an advisory director of The Liberty County Crime Stoppers Association, Inc. Mike is a member and former President of the Liberty County Bar Association. He also serves as a member of the Chambers County Bar Association, the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation, the National District Attorneys Association, the National College of District Attorneys, the Texas District and County Attorneys Association, the Liberty Rotary Club, the Liberty County Community Justice Council and the Chambers County Community Justice Council.
