The District Clerk is elected county-wide by voters for a four-year term and has specific duties outlined in the Texas Constitution, by statutes passed through Legislative action, and rules promulgated by the Texas Supreme Court. Duties include Clerk of the Court, Custodian of the Records, Records Management, Financial Officer, and Jury Manager.

NOTICE: As of October 30, 2013, we will no longer receive E-Filing from Tex.Gov due to the transition to TexFile. This is to prepare the legal community for the mandated changes enacted by the Texas Supreme Court to begin paperless filings July 1, 2015.
Tentative start up for TexFile is scheduled for November 30, 2013/ We encourage the legal community to acclimate themselves to TexFile in order to prepare for the 2015 mandate. A website will be provided by TexFile to assist you in your transition.

The District Clerk's Office also does passports. Hours of passport acceptance are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Photos are taken on-site if needed for $10.00.
