  • The Liberty County Clerk acts as a recorder and custodian of important public records--including all deeds and land instruments, bonds, birth and death certificates, assumed names, county plats, and livestock brands--ensuring that the records are maintained in a secure, archival manner.  The County Clerk's Office also issues and records marriage licenses for Liberty County. The Liberty County Clerk serves as clerk and custodian of records for the County Commissioners Court, the Constitutional Court (County Court), and the Statutorily-created County Court at Law. Finally, the Liberty County Clerk is the elections official for the county.

The County Clerk's Office is tasked with recording and filing all information provided to the office related to the hearings held and bringing the files to the appropriate court when requested. The County Clerk position is administrative in nature, and does not make decisions on policy, spending, taxation, nor any of the day-to-day issues addressed by the Courts.

    DAYTON ISD will have a Run-off Election on June 18, 2019, for the Trustee Position No. 2, between Chris Shumaker and Barry Pruitt

    Voting for Dayton ISD, City of Dayton, and ESD #3 will be at the Dayton Community Center, 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton, and the Westlake Fire Department, 8704 F.M. 1409 (S. Winfree), Dayton; from 7 AM to 7 PM.

    Voting for City of Hardin will be Hardin City Hall,142 C.R. 2010, Hardin, from 7 AM to 7 PM.

    Voting for City of Liberty will be at the Jack Hartel Admin Building, 318 San Jacinto St. (at Sam Houston St.), Liberty, from 7 AM to 7 PM.

    Voting for City of Ames will be at the Ames City Hall, 304 Martin St., Ames, from 7 AM to 7 PM.
